“Below are our recommended additional purchases to make the Iris Antenna fully functional, these brands are not specific to the Iris Antenna but meant to be a guideline on what components and quality you will need to operate the unit. As with any of these sort of things, you will find the brand that best suites your needs as you start using the units - we wish you luck in your journey with the Iris Antenna!”
50ohm BNC - Low Loss BNC (25’ and up)
We highly recommend you purchase a low loss 50ohm BNC for any runs higher than 25 feet. Recommended as the cable type to be “married”
50ohm BNC - Coax (24’ and below)
This is the cheap stuff, but it works for very short runs and patching. Not recommended for long runs. not recommended to be “Married” together with other coax cables (due to possible interference)
RP-SMA > BNC Adaptor
This is required to convert your hand units SMA port over to 50ohm BNC (Antenna Cable) - Dont forget to buy back ups!
50ohm barrels
Sometimes you need to barrel! caution- the attenuation when adding barrels becomes complicated to equate. caution - you’re going to want to label these “not for video use” right away.
